Valedictorian and Salutatorian for their Graduating Class of 2016

Legacy Preparatory Christian Academy (Legacy Prep) in The Woodlands, Texas has announced the valedictorian and salutatorian for their graduating class of 2016. Legacy Prep is excited to celebrate their third graduation ceremony at the end of the school’s 11th year. Brooklyn Fredricks has been named valedictorian and Cole Howden has been named salutatorian.

Legacy Prep is a University-Model School (UMS) comprised of grades pre-kindergarten through 12th. The school prepares students to be successful in college and life by providing a rigorous academic background that is rich in opportunities. Legacy Prep is a Christ-centered school that creates college-worthy, character witnesses for Christ.

Brooklyn Fredricks is graduating from Legacy Prep as valedictorian. She began at Legacy Prep in eighth grade. Fredricks was active in Legacy Prep’s National Honor Society and Student Council. She also played basketball and served as football manager all throughout high school. Fredricks plans to study international business and ministry at Oral Roberts University.

“Attending Legacy has taught me the importance of scheduling my time and understanding my limits,” stated Fredricks. “I will greatly miss all the people at Legacy – the students, the teachers, the staff, and the families.”

Fredricks aims to pursue a career in ministry. “I hope to impact others for Christ by being an example of the joy and freedom one can experience in a relationship with Jesus,” she added.

Cole Howden is graduating from Legacy Prep as salutatorian after attending Legacy Prep for six years. He will be attending Lone Star his first two years and studying biomedical engineering. Howden was active in Legacy Prep’s National Honor Society and Student Council.

“Legacy has had a massive impact on my life. My heart is on fire for God, and I am confident in myself,” said Howden. “As I leave Legacy, I hope to bring the word of God to others and serve in a ministry along with my professional career.”

According to Legacy Prep Head Administrator Audra May, “This graduating class is very special. Many of the students graduating this year were instrumental in pioneering every extra-curricular program we have at Legacy. This group of kids is very near and dear to my heart. Their absence will definitely be felt on campus as they go out into the world and continue to make an impact.”
