Legacy’s varsity cheerleaders attended UCA cheer camp at Texas A&M last week. After the Legacy bus dropped the squad off at an A&M dorm, the twelve high school girls spent four days bonding and improving their skills under the instruction of the UCA instructors. The days were long, and the girls worked hard. During the camp, the cheerleaders earned three trophies, two spirit sticks, and multiple ribbons for showcasing their skills in cheers, stunting, and dance. Four of the cheerleaders were awarded the All-American designation for their jumps, cheer, and dance performances. Two cheerleaders represented the squad well in the camp Jump Off and showed that Legacy’s cheerleaders stack up well against other cheerleaders in southeast Texas. The two coaches, Jennie Moyer and Jenny Ladd, who attended camp with the girls, enjoyed seeing the girls work together during camp and are excited about the year to come.
