Legacy Prep was recently awarded grant money from FIRST in Texas and Texas Workforce Commission to start a FIRST Tech Challenge robotics program with two high school teams in the 2020-2021 school year. This will allow Legacy high school students to participate in a robust, advanced robotics program and compete with public and private schools across the state. Legacy students will construct robots using metal structural parts, motors, and sensors. In addition, Legacy will be purchasing a 3-D printer for the students to 3-D design and print their own custom robot parts. Legacy will also repurpose the current high school LEGO EV3 robotics kits to be used in a middle school computer elective class to create a new middle school robotics program. This is an exciting time for Legacy, and we feel very blessed by God. Legacy would like to thank FIRST in Texas, Texas Workforce Commission, and Legacy’s leadership team.
