Congratulations to Legacy Prep’s swim team on their performances at the TAPPS state swim meet this week. The girls placed 1st and the boys placed 4th among many other individual placings.
“We are very proud of Coach Billy Gerwick and our entire swim team. Our boys placing 4th with just 5 swimmers was an amazing feat and we are thankful for all of their efforts. Some of the guys swam with injuries as well, a great example of their unselfishness for their teammates and our school. Our girls dominated the competition at state and brought home the team championship. We are proud of their dedication and hard work they put forth to achieve this lifetime memory. We will be proudly displaying another State Championship banner in the gym very soon,” stated Clint McDonald, Legacy Prep Athletic Director.
Coach Gerwick added, “I am so proud of all the Legacy Swimmers this season. Our athletes’ hard work and dedication persevered in the pool. It took every athlete’s points to allow us to win a championship for the girls and podium for the boys. Our team motto this year was “Discipline” and our team carried that discipline to the finish. (Hebrew 12:11) I had an amazing support group with Amber Stepanik helping coach and the most fantastic parents helping us along the way. I am honored and blessed to be the Legacy swim coach.”
