FRIDAY ELECTIVE CLASSES
Art: Grades PK-K

This course is intended as a hands-on activity class involving a variety of small projects. Students will
receive instruction and practice in cutting, gluing, and coloring as they work with different materials
such as construction paper, wood, crayons, clay, etc. Even at this early age their artistic awareness
will be developed as they discover the basic principles of art through their experience with different
types of media. There is a $15 supply fee. Course offered contingent on enrollment.
Art: Grades 1-2

This semester-long course is an introduction to art and is intended to lay a solid foundation for
subsequent art classes. Students receive instruction and practice in drawing and painting. Even at
this early age their artistic awareness is developed as they discover the basic principles of art— types
of lines, basic shapes, color, texture, foreground/background, symmetry and linear movement—
through their experience with a variety of media. There is a $15 supply fee. Course offered
contingent on enrollment.
Art: Grades 3-4

In this semester-long course, students learn to demonstrate competency in various styles, techniques
and media. Students receive instruction and practice in graphite and charcoal drawing, wet and dry
media, mixed media, collage and sculpture. Artistic awareness is developed as they discover the
basic principles of art—fine control of lines, using shapes and forms to create movement and
balance, blending and mixing color, texture contrast, value as contrast, overlapping perspective, and
radial balance. In addition, students develop a working visual and cognitive vocabulary of art
concepts. There is a $15 supply fee. Course offered contingent on enrollment.
Cheer Prep: Grades PK-4

Cheer Prep is a course designed for young Lady Lions. In this fun course, your daughter will learn
team building and friendships, confidence, how to support and encourage others and age-appropriate
cheer/dance routines. In addition, this course will also have craft days where the students will make
school spirit bows, flip flops and scrapbooking their Cheer Prep memories! There will be a $25
supply fee for this course. Course offered contingent on enrollment.
Chess Club: Grades PK-4

Experience chess lessons and play in a fun filled environment consisting of chess instruction and
competitive play. Experienced instructors, selected by USA Chess for their ability to make chess fun,
teach the game to players of all levels. Whether your child is a casual chess player or tournament
participant, this exciting enrichment program will improve every child’s game. Instructors use a range
of teaching tools including demo boards, computer tutorials, worksheets, stories and historic games
to keep class time exciting. USA Chess is a perfect way to give children a fun lesson learning chess
while challenging their minds!
Club Sports: Grades PK-4

Each week will consist of FFL-Fun, Fitness and Learning. We will be covering the following units:
soccer, flag football, baseball, frisbee golf, ultimate frisbee, golf, tennis, basketball, capture the flag,

Computer by iKids Inc./Little iKids: Grades PK-1

From the very first class, children will receive more than just computer basics! They will learn to
integrate sophisticated technology concepts such as E-mail and the Internet in an age-appropriate
way that even our youngest students understand and enjoy. During class, iKids become Computer
Detectives on a learning adventure to imaginative places such as the Email Trail and Keyboard
Castle. Classes start with our custom interactive video voicemail describing each new, fun-filled
mission. Children then move on to their own computers where they work on the latest software,
Imagine Tomorrow®. This software is specifically designed for each mission. Advancing at their own
pace, children proudly apply new technology skills to solve problems and accomplish their goal.
When class ends, children continue to enjoy their mission from home with online software activities

Computer by iKids Inc./Big iKids: Grades 2-4

Big iKids learn technology skills with exciting theme-based projects becoming artists, authors, pirates,
producers, survivor players, Olympians, and more! Children are introduced to desktop publishing,
word processing, telecommunications, databases, digital media and keyboarding. Children also
explore the fundamentals of animation, web design, graphics, video game and movie creation!

Computer by iKids Inc./Weebotics and Robotics: Grades PK-4

iKids has developed an exclusive curriculum for kids in Grades PK through 4th to be taught computer
skills with hands on learning with LEGO activities! Students will be introduced to technology and
engineering skills along with utilizing their math, science and literacy skills. The program also
teaches teamwork and communication all while having fun and building with LEGOs. Course offered
contingent on enrollment.
Cooking: Grades 1-4

Calling all cooks! Ever want to teach your children the importance of kitchen safety and use of
kitchen appliances? And, how about how to make healthy choices or to help with shopping lists?
Well, this class is for you. Lions in the Kitchen will teach your student basic kitchen safety, how to
read labels and recipes, using kitchen tools, how to follow a recipe, using the microwave, planning
meals and writing shopping lists, making healthy choices and even dinner etiquette and manners.
Class will be broken down into two sections – 1st & 2nd graders and 3rd & 4th graders. There will be
a $15 supply fee for this course. Course offered contingent on enrollment.
CYT Drama: Grades PK-1

This class, taught by experienced Christian Youth Theater teachers, introduces children to the
fundamentals of theater, using songs, drama games, skits, and theater fun. It is designed to build
self-confidence and stimulate imagination. The students will present a showcase to parents during

CYT Drama: Grades 2-4

This multi-faceted beginning drama class deals with the fundamentals of acting, staging, movement
and interpretation. Learn how to use your senses and draw upon them to develop characters. Our
experienced Christian Youth Theater teachers will build on students’ existing skills and help them
learn new ones. The students will present a showcase to parents during the last class session.

Dance: Grades PK-4

This class will be a ballet/jazz mix. Dance classes will introduce rhythm, music and dance into your
child’s life. They will not only learn dance, but coordination and discipline as well. The classes are
being taught by Nikki DeAlessandro, the owner of Extreme Performing Arts. Dance class will present
a showcase to parents during the last class session. Course offered contingent on enrollment.
Gardening: Grades 1-4

Learn basic gardening knowledge including: Garden tools, soils, location, seeds, and will plant a
school garden. Will gain knowledge about nutrition in the garden, how to care for plants,

Golf – Tiny Tots: Grades PK-1

TGA Premier Junior Golf will be offering Tiny Tots GOLF for Grades PK-1st. This course is designed
especially for this age group. All equipment is provided by TGA. Students will learn through rhymes
and songs, art association with each lesson and introduction to golf skills, putting, chipping and “3/4”
swing. Course is 45 minutes long. Course offered contingent on enrollment.
Golf: Grades 2-4

TGA Premier Junior Golf will be offering Golf for grades 2-4. Students will progress through two TGA
levels! All equipment is provided by TGA. In this course, students will learn through drills, games and
challenges. They will also be introduced to course rules and golf etiquette. Skills include: putting,
chipping, “3/4” swing and full swing. Course offered contingent on enrollment.
Guitar: Grades 1-4

Guitar 101 by Lessons On The Go – Guitar 101 is an fun, interactive course that fosters a love of
music and makes playing the guitar a fun experience for every student. This program focuses on
music theory, technique, rhythm, stage performance, reading charts, and so much more! Students
learn new skills through contemporary songs to make learning an exciting, confidence building
experience. Students will be responsible for providing a guitar for the class.
Homework Help: Grades PK-4

Ever wish you had just another hour for your student to do homework? Here’s your chance…
Homework Help is a study hall for elementary students. Students and parents can get the best of
both worlds… Students can enjoy the fun of participating in Friday electives and parents can feel
confident that they are able to complete a little homework too! In this class, students are required to
bring some sort of homework or reading material to each class period. Class will work like a study
hall where students are required to do quiet, independent school work. Electronic devices, etc. will
not be allowed. Homework Help will be monitored by a staff/faculty member who will be able to assist
the students if needed. Course will be offered regardless of enrollment.
Keyboarding/Piano: Grades: PK-4

Students will learn proper technique, theory, and music vocabulary. In addition to reading and
practicing music, students will also learn about famous composers, the history of music, and be
exposed to different (appropriate) music genres and styles. Students will need a keyboard or piano at
home to practice weekly songs from curriculum. Course offered contingent on enrollment. Class size
will be limited at 4.
Little Lions Football/Basketball: Grades 2-4

Little Lions Football (fall semester) is a course designed for young future football and basketball
players. In this course, your son will learn team building, confidence and the rules of football while
learning to play flag football. The Little Lions will be connected with a “Big Brother” on the Lions
Football team, be recognized at a Green-Out Pep-Rally day, volunteer as a trainer helper during
home football games and play a mini game during half-time at a home football game.
Bitty Basketball (spring semester) is a course designed for young future basketball players. In this
course, your child will learn team building, confidence and the rules of basketball while learning to
play basketball. The Lil LionBasketball players will be recognized at a Green-Out Pep-Rally day,
volunteer as a trainer helper during basketball games and play in a half-time display during a
the Student/Staff Basketball Game.
Literature in the Kitchen: Grades PK-K

This semester long course is a hands-on activity class combining age-appropriate books with the
kitchen. Students will hear/read a new story each class period, discuss the story as a group and end
with a hands-on activity that relates to the book. Some activities may involve food and others may
involve crafts… either way, they all relate to the kitchen and/or food. There will be a $15 supply fee
for this course. Course offered contingent on enrollment.
Martial Arts-Dojo Dragons: Grades PK-K

The Dojo Dragons is a program specially design for young students between the ages of 4 – 6
years. This class is an age- appropriate, fun filled class that focuses on teaching the students to not
only do karate, but learn important lessons that will aid them as they move towards their school age
years. Parents who enroll their child into a Dojo Dragons class notice that their “little one” becomes
more focused, more coordinated, able to take turns, as well as, developing better social skills.
Students also learn important self defense skills such as not talking to strangers, recognizing
child lures, remembering your telephone number, fire safety, and avoiding poisonous household
products.
*** This class meets twice a week at Legacy (Monday OR Wednesday and Friday) and additional
training days at the Dojo studio are included with the class. All uniforms and belt testing is included in

Martial Arts I & II: Grades 1-2

Martial Arts I & II is a class specially designed for children ages 6 – 11 years. This class allows
students to mentally and physically improve themselves through learning the martial art of Chun Kuk
Do. Although the class is fast paced and uses game styled activities, students are encouraged to pay
attention to detail and that every skill they learn will build into another more detailed skill later. The
teachers of this class facilitate this by giving constant attention to each student, encouraging students
to demonstrate what they have learned to the class, and participating in positive forms of, in
class, competition. In addition to learning physical karate, students are taught and encouraged to act
and think like a Black Belt. Students learn that being a Black Belt means much more that just
knowing a few punches and kicks. A Black Belt means being dedicated to trying your very best in
every class, as well as, outside activities. Students also learn that Black Belts are respectful to
everyone they meet and that the actual use of the techniques they learn in class is always the
absolute last choice in every situation.

Music Technology: Grades PK-4

iKids Piano is music education for the 21st century! Children learn piano and develop fundamental
music skills with a multimedia approach. Utilizing a piano keyboard connected to a computer, iKids
makes learning music enjoyable. Exercises and memorizing are turned into fun with interactive
software that develops skills for reading and playing music. Children are introduced to notes, chords,
rhythm values, hand position, theory, music creation, and more. Course offered contingent on
enrollment.
Reader’s Workshop: Grades PK-4

The Reader’s Workshop is a class designed to develop and strengthen advanced readers and
supporting and encouraging our struggling readers. This course will help your reader develop
phonemic awareness, word study skills, phonics, vocabulary, reading comprehension and fluency.
Reader’s Workshop will provide your student with differentiated instruction in reading while helping to
foster a lifelong love of the written word. Course offered contingent on enrollment.
Science Lab: Grades 1-4

In this semester long course, students will be involved in hands-on science based activities involving
a variety of small projects and labs. Students will receive instruction and practice in many of the
scientific steps including measurements, mixtures and solutions. This is a fun and exciting way to
explore science labs and God’s beautiful creations. Course is offered contingent on enrollment.
Scrapbooking: Grades 1-4
Course ID: ESCRAP -1/4
Students will enjoy the art of scrapbooking! They will complete a variety of projects to
showcase and share their photo memories. Class fees include a variety of scrapbook projects,
papers, stickers, ribbons, markers, and adhesives all appropriate for creating photo displays. Use of
professional scrapbooking materials such as trimmers, punches, scissors, etc. will be available for
student’s use. There is a $30 supply fee associated with this class. Course is offered contingent on
enrollment.
Spanish: Grades 1-4

Hola! Passport to Spanish is an introduction to the Spanish language for students in Grades 1st
through 4th. The course will be broken down into two classes comprising of 1st and 2nd graders and
3rd and 4th graders. In this course, students will learn pronunciation, listening skills with songs and
stories, bible verses, greetings and salutations, family relationships, days of the week and numbers
and colors. Course offered contingent on enrollment.
TOT Basketball: Grades PK-2
Course ID: ETOT-PK/1
The TOT is a phenomenal training curriculum that teaches basketball ball-handling and dribbling skills
to fun, age-appropriate music. However, basketball skills are only the tip-of-the iceberg with TOT.
Students are exposed to fine and gross motor skills activities, academic concepts, higher-order
thinking skills and listening activities. Self-discipline and high expectations are a major part of the
TOT program. You will be amazed at all of the fancy skills and educational concepts your student will
