Staff BYOD Guidelines

Legacy Staff are authorized to bring personal devices to campus. By doing so the staff member accepts the risks associated with being on a shared network. The device may be monitored by Legacy technology while on campus and the staff member agrees to abide by the guidelines laid out in the Technology Handbook and enroll the device into Legacy Mobile Device Management plan.

To enroll your device into Legacy MDM please follow the enrollment instructions or make an appointment with Technology personnel.

Managing students’ activities both on and off devices is everyone’s job. Please familiarize yourself with the student AUP and report any violations to the appropriate administrator.

Technology Purchasing Guidelines

Legacy strives to be on the cutting edge of technology and innovation. Please direct any Technology purchase requests to your administrator for consideration. Once they approve the purchase submit a purchase request via the Legacy Purchase Form. LPCA HR & Accounting – Home (sharepoint.com)

Why do I need to go through the Technology Department for my purchases?

  1. To ensure that new technology purchases meet industry standards.
  2. Make sure that new equipment will work in conjunction with existing technologies, the network and to standardize the inventory at the school.
  3. Once approved the Technology department will help configure, integrate, and deploy your new technology with you!
 

Hardware:

Only technology purchased according to these guidelines will be supported by the technology department and allowed on the campus’ secured network.

  • For new computer/technology purchases, the Technology Director must approve the requisition prior to processing the request. Please plan and allow sufficient time for this.
  • Once the item is received, please schedule an appointment on the Technology appointment calendar to discuss configuration options and possibly begin onboarding. If the process cannot be completed in the available appointment window a technician will coordinate a follow up appointment at that time.
 

Software:

Only technology purchased according to these guidelines will be supported by the technology department and integrated into the campus’ secured network.

  • All software must be approved by the Technology Director prior to purchase to ensure compatibility with our systems.  Please consult with your campus administrator and curriculum manager when considering new software.

 

Secure Wi-Fi Access

Only devices added to the Legacy MDM plan may be added to the Secure Wi-Fi. Connect to: “Legacy Secure”

Please ask your campus Technology representative to log you into the Secure Wi-Fi if the pre-shared key is not already loaded onto your device. If they are not available please schedule an appointment.

Guest Wi-Fi Access

As a curtesy, Legacy provides guest access for cellphones, tablets, and laptops that have not be vetted by Legacy Technology staff. Please use “Legacy Guest” for your non-vetted device.

You must open a browser to accept terms and conditions before you will gain access to the internet.
