Varsity Lions Excel at Cross Country State Meet

The Lion’s Cross Country team had an amazing time at the TAPPs state meet Monday 10/29. The boys team earned a solid 6th place finish and the girls team raced to a 3rd place podium finish.

The girls were led by Caroline Freeman who finished 3rd overall with a personal best time of 13:32.2 on the 2 mile course! The rest of the team finishers include Maddie Steed (11th, 14:22), Layla Faysal (16th, 14:49), Madison Vaughn (44th, 16:29), Madison Shea (50th, 16:55), Evin Calicchia (58th, 17:58- personal best) and Hannah Soltmann (59th, 18:01).

Brennan Clark led the way with a 17th-place finish and a 19:42.7 in the 3.11-mile course. The second Lion’s finisher was Nick Teusch (22nd, 20:01.1) followed by Gavin Gerwick (36th, 21:12.6 personal best), Carter Hutton (49th, 21:51.5), Luke Henson (55th, 22:16), Carson Keyes (65, 23:01) and Ian Picard (80, 25:50 personal best).
