I have been married for 28 years to Jeff Rush and have 3 children. My daughter, Sydney, began attending Legacy as an 8th grader and graduated in 2019. I have over 20 years of Student Services experience in higher education. I worked for 3 years at Texas A&M University as a counselor within the College of Liberal Arts, 3 years at Galveston College, and 17 years in various positions within the Lone Star College System. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Sam Houston State University and a Master’s degree in Educational/Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University. My primary role in higher education has been as a career counselor, assisting students who have been unsure of their career direction or needing a clearer path on how to reach their ultimate career goals. Through various programs throughout my career, I have also worked with high school students who were transitioning to college. I have 2 favorite bible verses: Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
